The Shattering Halos blog tour once again stops at Holly’s Hot Reads, and this time for an interview for character Cassiel. It was definitely an interesting experience to spend some time with this fallen angel. Check it out ❤
Title: Shattering Halos
Author: Sunniva Dee
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press, Inc;
Publication: February 22, 2014
Genre: New Adult/Paranormal Romance
He traded my death for love. I wasn’t given a choice. His decision has caught up with us, so now I am a living, breathing catalyst to war between Heaven and Hell.
The violations he committed saved my life. Since the collision, he’s appeared everywhere. In my hospital room, my school, even my house. He shows up in my paintings, my drawings, in all of my art projects. I can’t stop thinking about him.
He says his name is Gabriel, and he doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He doesn’t know how I can see him or why he loves me in ways that should be impossible for a Celestial.
My obsession grows. I want him to hold me, kiss me—give all of himself. For every day he protects me, the consequences loom darker and taller. Soon, they’ll crash down on us. Yes, the war is about to begin.
I gave Shattering Halos a big 5 stars!!! And you can see my review along with my interview with author Sunniva Dee here —> Shattering Halos Review and Author Interview <— Psst, there are hot pictures of Charlie Hunnum, Ian Somerhalder, and Travis Fimmel!
When Sunniva Dee (author of one of my very favourite NA Fantasy Romances) told me that Shattering Halos was going on tour again, and asked me if I wanted to interview my favourite character, the dark and brooding, Cassiel, there was no way on earth that I was turning it down. So I fixed my hair and make-up, put on my Prada heels (how could I wear anything else when it comes to this angel?), and ordered in chilled champagne with crushed strawberries. Looking to impress? Heck yes! I’m all about pleasing my guests, and if I can bag myself a smouldering fallen angel in the process? Bonus! So with a final check in the mirror, I’m going in!…
Holly: Well hello there, Cassiel! *waggles eyebrows* For the first Shattering Halos blog tour, I interviewed Sunniva Dee – it was pretty awesome; do you think we can beat it this time around?
Cassiel: You’re kidding, right? All that chick did was write me. Now you’re interviewing the real deal. Of course we’ll beat it. Plus, this is you and me, babe. You… and me.
*grabs a lock of Holly’s hair and rubs it between his fingers*
Holly: *dreamy sigh* So let’s chat about the book. How would you describe Shattering Halos?
Cassiel: Pff, I don’t know. Has too little me in it? I promise you—it’s the only place ever that Gabriel gets laid more than me. Seriously, that Sunniva-chick censored the living hellfire out of me. I complained but did she listen? No. She’s as stubborn as Gaia sometimes. So frustrating!
Holly: The main focus in the book was on Gabriel, but you were a pretty standout character yourself. As much as I love Gabriel, you were the one who caught my attention the most. Was it your intention to infiltrate the hearts (and naughty minds) of the readers?
Cassiel: It’s in my nature, babe. It’s what I do best. Hey, I don’t think I’ve had you… over yet. My master suite has quite the view. We can bring our drinks out on the balcony from there. Or stay in the bedroom—whatever works.
Holly: *blushes* What part would you say you play in the story?
Cassiel: Oh, right. Shattering Halos. Staying on task, are we? *groans impatiently*
Weeeell, I would say that I’m the guy who’s trying to keep everyone’s shit together. Jesus, what fools those two are—Gaia and Gabriel?! The funny part is, and I’m not going to spoil anyone’s reading fun here, but if I have my way with Gaia, then we’re all good. Disaster avoided. You know what I mean? Poof, Gabriel’s gone and whoops, I’ve rocked Gaia’s little world into oblivion. Hmm, I can see it so clearly.
*smirks delightedly for the first time*
Holly: You may be Gabriel’s brother, but you are very different characters. Can you explain to the readers how you differ?
Cassiel: I’m your dad’s worst nightmare. I’m hot as hell and I know it, I’m bad ass, don’t give a shit about anything or anyone, and I have an awesome sense of humor.
With Gabriel, you can pretty much put “not” in front of everything I just listed about me. Except the hot part. He’s hot as… uhm—heaven? *snorts out a derisive chuckle*
Dude doesn’t understand the swoon effect he has on the entire female population, he’s way too nice, has a fucking conscience, and even worse than that: he’s monogamous! I know! *shakes head*
Holly: Anyone who has read the book will know that you are a fallen. So my question is, heaven or earth? What are the positives and negative of both?
Cassiel: Sorry, I don’t do boring questions—anything boring, really. Sunniva? You’re so good at censoring stuff, how come you didn’t filter this one out? *rolls eyes* Next question, Sweets.
Holly: *mutters* Asshole! Fine – You’re a big lover of crushed strawberries and champagne, Prada shoes, and sex. If you had to give up two of the three, which would you choose? *raises eyebrow*
Cassiel: Two out of three? Holly Baker’s a hard-ass—hmm, I like that.
But let me think, here—SEX! No contest, babe.
Holly: Describe your perfect life…
Cassiel: I’ll answer that from where my existence was after Shattering Halos. If I didn’t, I’d spoil the fun for you in my own spin-off novel Stargazer.
The main ingredients are: An opulent penthouse in every cool city on Earth. The occasional visit to my favorite love bug in Hell, Lilith—when I crave pillaging someone as well as being ravaged myself. Apart from that, I’m all about human babes. Champagne with crushed strawberries, a couple of ladies—yup. I’m easy to please… and I please easily.
Holly: As you mentioned, readers will get a chance to see if you get your perfect life when your story continues in Stargazer – due out later this year; I was lucky enough to read it a few months ago and I have to say, I love you even more!! Who knew that was even possible?? Do you think Sunniva Dee portrayed you and your story well?
Cassiel: Yeah, she finally got something right. I told her, I’m not doing this book unless you get my existence right this time: I curse. I sleep around. I’m me, right? The only thing I’m not too happy with is how Sunniva dug into my weak spot—the only girl I’ve ever lost my marbles over . What went down, there, was damn private, but I get it—I get it—she wants to sell books. Needs the shock value, I guess? Well, I deliver.
Holly: You certainly did that! Now how about we end this on Five Words Or Less? I say something and you have to describe it in your own way in five words or less. Ok?
Cassiel: My wuz of a brother.
Cassiel: Hot-as-shit cock-tease.
Cassiel: Every single female’s wet dream.
Holly: Shattering Halos
Cassiel: Should’ve been about me.
Cassiel: Fucking awesome story.
Holly: And finally, me!
Cassiel: *grabs the champagne bottle and opens the window* Enough chit-chat. You’re coming with me.
Holly: I think that’s a pretty great note to leave it on 😉 Thank you for dropping by Cassiel; it’s been an absolute pleasure. Until next time Hot Readers ❤
Cassiel: No prob. You’ll have more to thank me for in a couple of hours.

Originally from Norway, I moved to the United States twelve years ago. The first awesome five years I spent in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, before moving to the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. I’m currently on my seventh year in the South, where my husband, son, and I are enjoying the heat, the humidity, as well as our crazy menagerie of animals better known as the petting zoo. The only one not here is my daughter, who returned to Norway for college. I hold a Master’s degree in languages, and for ten years, I taught at university level, before settling in as graduate adviser at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Writing is my passion, my joy, and my addiction. Shattering Halos is my debut novel. When I’m not writing, I read. A lot. 🙂
