It’s LIVE!!!! Katy Evans is back with the much anticipated 5th book in the Real series. Check out my review below, and make sure you one click! And you can also pre-order the sixth book in the series!!!
Every woman wants me–except the one I sing for.
Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about my band being in town.
But when you love a girl, you don’t leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise. Any man with half a brain should know.
So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?
Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.
When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like I’m a god–but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl’s not happy to see me.
Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that’s her — Pandora Stone is a freaking man-eater and she’s out for my blood.
Let her come at me. Because I’m out for her heart and, this time, there’s no way she can stop me.
I’m happy!!!! So freaking happy with this book. I struggled pretty big with Rogue, but Katy Evans pulled it back in, and delivered to us a dose of the magic that we know she possesses within her writing, in Ripped.
Pandora – known to Real series readers – is the gothic friend of Brooke and Melanie. We never really got to know much about Pandora in the previous books in this series, other than the fact that she was broken. And bitchy. But they kind of go hand in hand, right? So I was definitely intrigued to know more about her, and I wasn’t disappointed. Though, at times, she came across a little immature, she was funny, spunky, and had a big heart.
Mackenna – lead singer of rock band, Crack Bikini, and the guy who broke Pandora’s heart, six years ago. I really did like Mackenna. He’s no Remy, and he doesn’t have the crazy intensity of Greyson, but I liked that he was different from them, and that Katy doesn’t have her leading men all fitting into the same box. And hello!! He’s a rock star!!
Together, I thought Pandora and Mackenna were great. They kept me entertained with their bickering, sexing, and loving, and I was absolutely rooting for them to finally get their HEA, and join the Real series lovebirds, Brooke and Remy, and Melanie and Greyson – who we get to see again in this book – yay!!!
The plot was…interesting. There were some turns that had me thinking, hmmmm, really?? But there was a WHAT-THE-ACTUAL-HELL kind of twist that took the book in a completely different direction, and added a whole heap of emotion to the story. And yes, I had a little cry for the characters after this point.
I’m still not really sure about the ending, if I’m honest. Due to the big twist, although it ended good, it felt like it was left open for more, so I was really happy as I knew that a 6th book had been added to the series, and I thought that Pandora and Mackenna’s story would continue. But from the look of the very brief description on Amazon, that isn’t the case…
Nonetheless, this was a great book, and will sure to be another hit for Katy Evans super fans. I’m looking forward to finding out what’s next.
