The final book!!! Can you believe it? Legend was without a doubt the best book in this series since Real! I loved it!!
Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he’s known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He’s got a personal score to settle with the Underground’s one and only Remington “Riptide” Tate.
As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town–and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she’s none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who’s supposed to root against him and a girl he’s supposed to stay away from.
But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.
The highly anticipated sixth story in the New York Times bestselling series that began with Real—“a rare mix of fevered obsession and gentle enchantment…a visceral and addicting debut” (Christina Lauren).
I had a bit of a rocky time with Legend. It was off to a truly great start, but then I found it difficult to keep my interest. Maybe it was because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to read. I don’t know. But I put it down and then picked it back up about a week later and got right back into the swing of things.
From that point on, I couldn’t put it down, even if I tried! I devoured every word, and I loved every turn the book took, even though the twist was really predictable (well…the first one was…), I really loved reading about Reese, Maverick, and the rest of the REAL crew! It was so good to be back!!
I found myself really falling for Reese and Maverick; I wanted everything to work out for them so bad because they seemed to have this really epic love, and they needed a HEA! And I loved…gah it’s impossible to say without spoilers, so I’ll just say…Remy. And when you read Legend for yourself, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
Oh man. The championship. I probably shouldn’t have laughed during such an important fight, but the championship was hilarious! The digs which were thrown between the fighters really had me in fits of unexpected laughter. And that ending… Gah!!!
Legend is the 6th and final book in the REAL series, and what a perfect way to end it. Whether you’re a REAL series fanatic, or whether you got lost along the way, LEGEND is a must read, for all the original Remy lovers. I’m glad I had the chance to experience it all from the very beginning.
Thank you, Katy.

Side Note: So, I just wanted to take a minute to explain why I gave Legend 5 stars after admitting I put the book down for a week. Typically, if I’ve put a book down or struggled but persevered, I’ll knock half a star/a star off the final rating. And I had every intention of doing that with Legend. Until I reached the end. And there was one rating SCREAMING at me. I felt it in my heart. I loved the rest of this book SO MUCH, you guys!! So much. There was no way I could rate it anything less than what Maverick and Reese deserved. And that, was 5 huge stars.
