Review – UNSEEN MESSAGES by Pepper Winters

Seriously, just go and buy this book right now. I can’t handle how much I love it.

“There is a message for everything. From handwritten to verbal, seen and unseen. Messages exist all around us.”

But what if you don’t see?
What if you don’t understand?
What if, by ignoring the message, your life is never the same again?

Estelle Evermore morphed from nobody to somebody overnight.
Galloway Oak put his past behind him and endeavoured to make his fortune using his trade.

Two strangers.
One plane.
Multiple unseen messages.

From sky to island, they find neither fame nor skills can save them. Stripped from society and left alone to survive the elements, the very task of staying alive outweighs all other needs.

Until survival turns to desire.
And desire turns to danger.

From New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a timeless love story answering the question of what happens when everything is stripped away.

Our island hadn’t changed. But my God, our world had.

I just don’t even know where to start with this book. There’s so much that I want to say, but because of spoilers, I just can’t. But I hope you I at least make you realise just how bone deep I loved this story. I mean, I’m not a fan of long books. I’m too easily distracted and I get bored waiting to find out how the story ends. I didn’t realise when I first started, but Unseen Messages is close to 600 pages. 600 pages filled with such a powerful, heartfelt, and heartbreaking story, and not once did I ever get distracted or bored. In fact, I would have quite willingly read 600 more.

It was that good. It was that good, that even though I know I would never survive being stranded on an island, I found myself wanting to be! I spent the three days it took me to read it, dreaming about it, and I’ve not been able to get it out my head since I finally put the book down. My heart actually feels heavy that it’s over. I miss the characters, the life, the story. I miss it all. Because this author created something so spectacular. So special. And I’m begging anyone who has ever listened to my recommendations, and even those of you who haven’t, to please pick up this book!

I really don’t want to go into the story, because the synopsis doesn’t tell you much, and as far as I’m concerned, if the author wanted you to know anything before reading the book itself, they’d put it in the synopsis. But this book has so much more to offer. So much despair, so much hope, so much destruction, so much love, so much heartache, so many moments! The “moments” that you know you”ll never be able to forget. The moments that you hold in your heart, long after you’ve closed the book. The moments that, combined with everything else, lead you to one heck of an intense book hangover.

Unseen Messages is not only one of my favourite books of the year, but by far, one of the very best books I’ve ever read.

“Woman, you’ve had this power over me all along…You just didn’t pay attention.”

“Are you saying I’m unobservant?”

“I’m saying you’re everything I’ve ever wanted.”
